This course explores the foundations of effective classroom management through the lens of the Teaching Through Interaction (TTI) framework. The material focuses on how teachers can create a safe and structured classroom environment through effective interaction with students. Teaching Through Interaction highlights three key areas of teacher-student interaction: Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support.
At the heart of the course are two simulated versions of the same classroom scenario—one in which the teacher demonstrates more effective classroom leadership, and one where the interaction is more challenging. These recorded lesson simulations are created using TeachLivE, a semi-virtual tool designed to support teacher development through realistic, practice-based experiences. By watching and analyzing these two examples, you will learn to identify important signs in the interaction—both verbal and non-verbal—that affect how the lesson unfolds. You will be invited to reflect on what works, what doesn’t, and why, and to think about how you might handle similar situations in your own classroom.
The module takes about 5–8 hours to complete and can be done at your own pace. It includes short reflection exercises and practical examples, and you are encouraged to actively engage with the material.
This course is designed for pre-service and early career teachers who want to build confidence and awareness around classroom management and leadership.
