This course invites pre-service teachers and early-career teachers to explore and reflect on their personal beliefs about inclusive education and professional teaching practices. Beliefs play a crucial role in teacher development, shaping how educators plan lessons, interact with students, and reflect on their teaching. Often formed during one’s own school experience, these beliefs can be deeply rooted and not always consciously accessible.
In this module, participants will uncover and examine their beliefs using structured reflection tools such as concept maps. These tools make implicit ideas visible and provide a powerful foundation for personal and professional growth.
The module is divided into two parts: one at the beginning and one at the end of the course unit. In the first part, participants will create a concept map that captures their beliefs about what it means to be a teacher in an inclusive classroom. After completing the course, they will revisit and revise their map, reflecting on how their thinking has evolved through new insights and experiences.
Short informational inputs and targeted reflection activities throughout the module provide additional guidance and deepen the learning process. Join us on this journey of personal and professional growth – towards becoming a more reflective teacher who creates meaningful and inclusive learning experiences for all students.
