Hello again!
Now it is time to return to your initial ideas and reflect on how they may have changed. In this final module, you will revisit the concept map you created at the beginning of the course and consider how your understanding of inclusive education has developed. By comparing your earlier and current perspectives, you can make your learning visible and reflect on your professional growth.
This final module will guide you through revisiting your concept map to reflect on what you have learned about inclusive education in these past modules.
TASK 1:
Please revise the concept map you created during Module 1. Consider how your perspective on inclusive education has changed. Add new concepts and integrate them into your concept map as appropriate, and discard concepts and connections between concepts that do not feel relevant to you anymore.
If needed, revisit Module 1 to refresh your memory on concept maps and teachers’ beliefs.
TASK 2:
In Module 1, we discussed the benefits of discussing your concept map with a peer who may have also created a concept map on the same topic as you. In the following video, a fellow aspiring teacher will share his concept map.
Please watch carefully and consider whether his considerations make sense to you or not.
TASK 3:
What feedback would you give your “partner” if this were a real partner interview on your concept maps? Is there something you found particularly insightful that did not make sense to you or that needs further clarification? Write at least 300 words.
TASK 4:
In the light of this discussion, reflect on your concept map. Is there something you are doubting, feel encouraged in or that you want to change now? Write at least 300 words.
Final Reflection
You have now completed your reflection on how your beliefs about inclusive education may have developed throughout the course. Revisiting your concept map is not only a way of looking back, but also a way of becoming more aware of your future professional practice. We hope this process has encouraged you to continue reflecting on inclusion and your role as a teacher.
